The Vertical Forest building is a new symbol of sustainable, ecological architecture, winner of the 1st prize at the 2014 International Highrise Awards, reinforcing the prestige of Stefano Boeri and of Italian architecture all over the world.

What is unusual about the buildings is the presence of more than two thousand trees and shrubs planted right on its walls.

In this ambitious metropolitan reforestation project, greenery aims to increase the biodiversity of plant and animal species in Milan, reduce urban sprawl and contribute to mitigation of the microclimate.
